Avo Uvezian Celebrates 83rd Birthday with Cigar New Release

Famed jazz pianist and cigar enthusiast Avo Uvezian is turning 83 and Davidoff is celebrating his birthday with the new Avo Compañero cigar, the limited-edition release for 2009.   

Fans of the Avo brand are invited to celebrate with him and try the new cigar before everyone else, as Uvezian is on tour to host a very limited series of pre-release cigar dinners around the country.

West Chester’s G&G Cigar Company was selected to host the only local event – “This is one of only 9 dinners in the world and we are honored that Avo and Davidoff selected G&G Cigar Company to host this event” says co-owner Doug Gianforte. 

The dinner was held at Downingtown Country Club on Monday March 30th where cigar enthusiasts were treated to a steak dinner, an assortment of cigars, and an opportunity to meet a cigar legend.  Avo, himself, entertained our exclusive guests by singing and playing the piano with our jazz band.

The event was sold out with 110 tickets.  “The Avo Compañero is the best blend ever released under my name from the Occidental Kelner Cigars factory in the Dominican Republic,” said Uvezian.  The cigar consists of a dark Ecuadorian Wrapper Dominican San Vicente binder, and filler tobacco from the Dominican Republic and Peru.  Only 8,000 boxes of 10 cigars were produced.
