Doug Gianforte and Pete Garzia enjoy cigars. Their enjoyment became knowledge, and knowledge became expertise. But being a cigar aficionado is more than just a hobby, it’s a lifestyle. It’s about taking the time to savor the small, joyful moments of life with good friends. While the rest of the world is constantly stuck in “fifth gear,” the cigar aficionado knows when to slow down, relax and enjoy life.

In 1997, at the conclusion of a successful construction project in Pittsburgh, Doug and Pete decided to celebrate with their client on a trip to the Cigar Aficionado convention in Las Vegas. Their trip couldn’t have happened at a better time – cigar imports were at their peak and the cigar business was beginning it’s boom.

After meeting manufacturers, vendors, retailers, and learning a lot more about the cigar business, it occurred to Doug and Pete that their home region of Chester County PA didn’t have a good cigar store. When they returned, both men decided the time was right and pooled their efforts to find the perfect spot for a perfect store. West Chester PA was starting their downtown renovation project and 118 North High Street was their destiny.

Their dream was to offer the best products in an exquisite environment where private club members could entertain, network, or simply unwind from the stresses of the day.

Created by cigar aficionados for cigar aficionados, G & G Cigars opened it’s doors in 1997 and is a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
